The Seat of Power. Note the two monitors, and the pull-out keyboard and mouse pad.
Winter / Summer: my back yard. View from Command Central
Welcome to Miles of 100 Mile House
@ HOME in the Cariboo Highlands
Golden Sunset through Office Window. Glimpse of garage and back yard.
Satellite TV. Imagine! I had only one channel in Gold Bridge. Note the sign above the TV however. A little honesty is required.
Command Central ~ My Office
My Cozy Corner to cool out in. Mully Wully's 2nd favourite chair. Mr. Wully Muggins is my Wuggly Muggly cat.
Note the Easel. Beside the TV are water colour paints and brushes. When not painting, I can use the easel as a notice board. I write a lot of notes to myself... in very large font. Sometimes they actually work.
My good old friend, a saggy couch, sits between the easel and the pink cupboard. It's piled with pillows, and is a great place to lie around and watch TV. In the corner is the curtain Ruth made, and my book of peoms about my life.
Dining Room & Out to Back Deck and Yard
Looking from the office; little filing cabinet beside my cozy chari. Looking into the dining room.
Entering the dining room, with the kitchen in the background.
Looking from the dining room out onto the back deck. Note the greenhouse in the background.
Looking from the dining table out into the back yard.
The great teak table Nettie gave me, and the fabulous hutch Ruth found and Mom bought.
View of dining room from the living room.
More dining room. Note the golden glorious sunshine coming through the sliding glass doors. The photo collage above the bread box was made by Ruth from photos she took around my neighbourhood.
View of the office from my favourite place to sit and chop veggies and watch TV in the kitchen.
Ruth would like it if I'd tone down my pink cupboards, but I'm not sure I'm going to.
Living Room & Front Porch
Entertainment area of the living room, with a glimpse of the hall.
Ruth made the curtains, bought the couch and love seat, bought the wicker coffee table and shipped it up by Greyhound, and found the grand carpet in an antique store near here. The picture at the left on the wall is my favourite picture of a tiger. I told Ruth that someday I would find a picture of a jaguar to join it. She went out to Lac LaHache one morning and found the jaguar now displayed beside the tiger.
View of living room from dining room. The grand old trunk is my recycle station. The easy chair was a wondrous find we discovered in a second hand store; it blends with the couch very well.
The other end of the living room, which Ruth calls the mud room. See Ruth, I found a valance for the window.
I dreamed of the deacon's bench the night before Ruth and I found it in the second hand store here in 100 Mile. I can store winter gear in it and sit on it when I tend the fire. Ruth talked the shop lady into selling her the shoe shelves, even though they'd already been spoken for. You'll notice Muggly Wuggly, the Wullly Wu, aleady enjoys lying around by the stove. I'm sure it will be his favourite place in winter.
Sun shines on the front porch, where there's plenty of room to store lots of wood in winter. Note the candle holder by the door. Perfect for when there's a power outage. Another piece of Ruth's genius.
A lovely corner created by Ruth.
View from the couch.
The lovely wicker table Ruth found in Chilliwack and sent up by Greyhound.
Wully Mully is tired out from playing with his Ducky.
Ruth found a bunch of lovely designer tins for this impossible shelf, and sent them up with the Greyhound delivery. We couldn't just leave this shelf empty, now could we?
More of the shelf and a view of the kitchen.

My mother, Sarah Siple, without whom none of this would have happened.  She gave me my inheritance ahead of time so I could make the downpayment on the house.  And the guest room will always be available to her.
And to my sister, Ruth Vandenbor, who dreamed of me having a home in the first place, and who then worked her great magic as a designer, furniture finder, and curtain maker.  She did most of the layout and coordination.
Mouse-over each picture to view a pop-up description.  If you lose the description, just mouse-over the picture again.  Move your cursor off the picture and then back over it again.  Some of the descriptions are a bit long, so you may have to mouse-over a couple of times.  Have fun.  I had a lot of fun thinking of each of you while putting this together.  Don't forget to look for the Links to MORE at the bottom of the page.
